Ortofon 2M Black Verso
The Ortofon 2M Black Verso is a modern MM cartidge that is universally installed with medium and heavy arms. it can easily be mounted on a cartridge holder with bottom fixing, supplied with interchangeable threaded pins (2 and 2.5 mm). it is installed on old turntables Thorens. this cartridge is designed for precise and accurate recovery of information in the grooves.
The Ortofon 2M Black Verso cartridge is the high-end cartridge of the 2M range and is equipped with a Shibata tip.
The philosophy of Ortofon is to render as accurate as possible the sound recorded on the disc, without coloring or deforming the sound.
The new 2M series is the culmination of a long research to obtain a very high performance mobile magnet cartridge, both in terms of the response curve and the level of musicality. The name 2M comes from the MM of Mobile Magnet. The design was entrusted to Copenhagen's Møller Jensen Design, the same designer who designed the Kontrapunkt series.
The 2M Black uses a bare Shibata diamond. 2M technology is based on a split magnet magnetic motor to reduce eddy currents. This makes it possible to obtain an extremely flat response curve. The quality of this magnetic assembly gives it a remarkable sensitivity of 5mV.
