Ortofon 2M mono

Ortofon Cartridge 2M mono is a mono cartridge specially designed to read monos recordings.

The philosophy of Ortofon is to reproduce as accurately as possible the sound recorded on the disc, without coloring or deforming the sound. The new 2M series is the result of a long research to obtain a cartridge with a moving magnet to very high performance, both at the level of the response curve and at the level of musicality. The name 2M comes from the MM of Mobile Magnet. The design was entrusted to Copenhagen's Møller Jensen Design, the same designer who designed the Kontrapunkt series.
The 2M Mono uses a bare elliptical diamond. 2M technology is based on a split magnet magnetic motor to reduce eddy currents. This makes it possible to obtain an extremely flat response curve. The quality of this magnetic assembly gives it a remarkable sensitivity of 4,0mV.

This cartridge is available in three versions, 2M Mono, 2M Mono Verso and 2M Mono PNP MKII.

2M Mono PNP MKII / Version integrating the cell holder designed only for the 2M range with connector to SME standards.
