- Article number: 545509
The Dynavox TPR-2 Phono Preamplifier - Sound Converter is a multi-function device. It is a phono preamp, where both MM and MC cartridges can also be used in, for others it is a sound converter that can conjure tube sound with your existing system.
Taking a closer look under the hood, or behind the 5 mm thick aluminum front of the Dynavox TPR-2, it becomes evident that the Sound Converter, besides the great look with its glowing tube, also thinks technically seriously:
The TPR-2 with its built-in ICs equalizes the frequency response of turntables two-staged: Sequentially arranged, first the bass, then the treble. Through the mice-piano at the bottom, the sensitivity can be adjusted, which makes the Dynavox TPR-2 a universal phono preamp for MM and MC systems. The volume control and the output gain are also found on the well-ordered board.
The Dynavox TPR-2 convinces with its powerful and vibrant sounds, and the tubes of known typical warm colors.
The function of the sound converter is the icing on the cake for your existing hifi-system: In principle, the TPR-2 sits in this function between a source and an amplifier. You can connect any music source via the line input. The sound is adopted, passed over the 12AU7 tube and back to you amp. The result is a sound experience that is otherwise known only from a tube amp.
The power supply was swapped with the AC adapter, that weighs almost a kilo, in an external enclosure to prevent interference. With the sound converter it is connected by a high-quality bayonet connector. The power supply is included of course.
Overall, the Dynavox TPR-2 may be seen as an inexpensive, tasty treat for every hifi-friend.
