The AVID INGENIUM turntable does not deny its relationship with larger models of the Anglo-Saxon brand, the T-shaped frame, with the support and the tonearm firmly fixed, is made of aluminum of 6.35 cm. thickness, providing a strong, extremely torsion-resistant base for the entire unit. The Ingenium is based on 3 elastomer feet made of non-deformable plastic sorbhane with elastic mobility; a secure position of the drive is ensured, vibrations and movements in external action are very effectively protected.
This deck was designed to meet a very sharp specification with a remarkable manufacturing and design, allowing enthusiasts and beginners to acquire a quality turntable that has nothing to envy the greatest for an excellent quality -price.
Among the largest plates, including the DIVA II and the so-called "inverted" plate, which is also used on the Ingenium, inverted means that the bearing consists of a vertical conical steel mandrel, at the tip of which is a carbide ball tungsten, which in turn rests on the outer portion of the bearing firmly connected to the sub-tray. This technique offers extraordinary wear resistance and low noise; the lubrication is almost superfluous, only a thin film of oil, fed by a tank located above the mirror of the bearing if necessary, fulfills this task. The fully outboard engine is located behind the chassis in a heavy engine base, which is decoupled by a rubber ring from the ground and drives the inner plate onto a round silicone belt.
As standard equipment, the INGENIUM comes with the Pro-Ject 9cc carbon tonearm and a standard MM cell, while the drive geometry allows the use of bases for other tonearms. at 12 inches, even on request with 2 reading arms!
Conclusion: INGENIUM is more than a cheap entry into the world of AVID HiFi discs: it's a high-quality, bold turntable that elevates analog playback to an unimaginable level.
