Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 cartridge, in honour of the most influential composer in music history, a new and highly efficient MM flagship from the Danes.

The timing couldn't have been better than to release a new top MM cartridge to mark the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth, and at the same time pay tribute to one of the most successful composers. The new Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 replaces the former flagship of the successful 2M series.

But what exactly is made even better than the famous 2M Black, after all, the latter is legitimised as one of the best MM cartridges. Basically, the new Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 is based on the proven 2M Black cartridge. However, in the new model, the naked Shibata diamond of the famous 2M Black is placed on a boron needle carrier. Clearly the proven combination that has already made the legendary Ortofon MC Cadenza Black a high-flyer.

The filigree Nude Shibata cut guarantees eminently detailed reproduction across the entire frequency spectrum, including the highest frequencies. The remarkably stiff and light boron needle carrier allows remarkable speed and responsiveness with remarkable transparency, a sonic experience at the highest MC level.

Ortofon has also found a perfect balance between compliance and damping on the inside, with a newly developed rubber for the suspension system whose formula is based on a highly efficient nano-filler (MWCNT). In addition, the production of the new rubber compound is much more environmentally friendly and therefore in keeping with the times.
